1. Information We Collect

Account Information

• Elder users: Anonymous sign-in (no personal credentials required). Optionally, name and profile photo.
• Caregiver users: Email address, name, phone number (optional), and profile photo (optional).
• Social sign-in: If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from those services. Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your real email.

Health Data

With your explicit permission, MemoryFy accesses Apple HealthKit data including step count, heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, and sleep data. Health data is only collected when you enable health tracking in Settings. You control which specific metrics are shared with caregivers.

Location Data

With your permission, we collect location data to attach GPS coordinates to memories, share your location with authorized caregivers for safety, and detect whether you are at your home location. Location sharing is opt-in and can be disabled at any time.

Photos and Voice Notes

• Photos: Captured via camera or selected from your photo library when creating memories or setting a profile picture.
• Voice notes: Audio recordings you create for memories. Voice data for commands is processed on-device and is not stored permanently.

Usage and Activity Data

We collect reminder completion events, memory access patterns, brain game scores, and voice command usage (processed on-device) for smart suggestions and pattern recognition. Activity data older than 90 days is automatically deleted.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Account info: Create and manage your account, enable caregiver connections
• Health metrics: Display health dashboard, share with authorized caregivers
• Location: Memory tagging, caregiver safety monitoring
• Photos & voice notes: Memory vault storage and retrieval
• Activity patterns: Smart suggestions, optimal reminder timing, caregiver alerts
• Brain game data: Track cognitive exercise progress, adjust difficulty

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Data Sharing

With Caregivers

If you are an elder user, your authorized caregivers may access reminder status, health metrics, location data, and memory vault items based on the permissions you set. You can revoke caregiver access at any time.

With Service Providers

• Google Firebase: Authentication, database, file storage, and push notifications.
• Apple HealthKit: Health data is read locally on your device.
• Google Sign-In / Sign in with Apple: Used only for authentication.

We do not share, sell, or rent your personal information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

4. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored securely using Google Firebase with encryption in transit and at rest. Voice command processing is performed on-device. Caregiver access is enforced through Firebase security rules.

5. Data Retention

• Account data: Retained as long as your account is active.
• Activity logs: Automatically deleted after 90 days.
• Memories, reminders, and photos: Retained until you delete them or close your account.
• Health and location data: Overwritten with each update.

6. Your Rights and Controls

• Enable or disable health sharing per metric in Settings.
• Control location sharing frequency or disable entirely.
• Grant or revoke specific permissions for each caregiver.
• Delete memories and reminders at any time.
• Contact us to request full account deletion.
• Revoke device permissions through iOS Settings at any time.

7. Children's Privacy

MemoryFy is designed for elderly users and their adult caregivers. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.

8. Apple HealthKit Compliance

Health data accessed through HealthKit is not used for advertising, not sold to data brokers, and only shared with caregivers when the user has explicitly granted permission.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
